About
My reason for training to be a counsellor was due to my own experience of how powerful counselling can be when in personal crisis. My own life went through a very turbulent time some years ago with a variety of difficult life issues happening in a short space of time. I was completely overwhelmed and needed an anchor. My therapy not only enabled me to cope with what was happening at the time, but gave me the tools to help me cope with future situations. I also gained a huge amount of self awareness of my past and how this affects my everyday life, from dealing with stress, my style of resolving conflicts to how I function in relationships.
Now I would like to help others, in the same way that counselling helped me.
Approach
My aim is to build a trusting working relationship with you, the client. By offering you time to off load, think, speak and explore what is concerning you, I aim to assist you in managing your life in a more positive way.
Whether this is due to personal crisis, behaviour issues or for personal development, I can help you to work through your difficulties by being with you in your storm and working with you to calm the waters.
Together we can uncover the problems and adjust thinking/decisions/patterns of behaviour etc accordingly.
Furthermore, I believe we all have our own inner resources to help us through our difficult times in life. I’d like to help you find yours.
