Mental health at work
Training your employees to support their colleagues’ mental health is a great way to promote a culture of mental wellbeing across your organisation. We offer comprehensive remote and in-house training courses to suit your budget and needs, along with ongoing training and support for those that are trained.Â

This online course is delivered through the MHFA England Online Learning Hub. Learning takes place through four live training sessions, spread across two or four weeks, with self-learning activities in between, and each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan.
The course provides attendees with:
- An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing.
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues.
Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress. - Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening.
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support.
Everyone who completes the course receives:
- A certificate of attendance to say they are a Mental Health First Aider.
- A manual to refer to whenever they need it.
- A quick reference card for the Mental Health First Aid action plan.
- A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support their own mental health.
- Ad-hoc 1-2-1 support if requested with our instructor between sessions.
This two day (face-to-face) course is designed by Mental Health First Aid England and qualifies attendees as Mental Health First Aiders. Offering:
- An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing.
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues.
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress.
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening.
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources.
- Tools to look after your own mental wellbeing.
- Ad-hoc one-to-one sessions between training sessions to support attendees with any additional. questions and online.
Learning takes place across four manageable sessions, through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities. Each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan.
Everyone who completes the course receives:
- A certificate of attendance to say you are a Mental Health First Aider.
- A Mental Health First Aid manual to refer to. whenever they need it.
- A workbook including some helpful tools to support their own mental health.
- Ad-hoc 1-2-1 support with our Instructor between sessions if requested.
This course helps your organisation to raise awareness of mental health. Learning takes place through both live training sessions and self-learning activities, covering:
- What mental health is and how to challenge stigma.
- A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues.
- An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing.
- Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue.
- This can be delivered face-to-face or online through the MHFA England Online Learning Hub.
This one day course is designed by our Mental Health First Aid Trainers and can be delivered in-house or remotely. The aim of the course is to offer an in-depth understanding of mental health in the workplace and give employees tools to have high quality Mental Health Orientated conversations at work. Topics can include:
- Understanding the spectrum of Good Mental Health and Mental ill Health.
- Have a better understanding of common mental health conditions.
- Understanding the impact of stigma and discrimination in society.
- Recognising the symptoms of Mental ill Health
- Understanding the mental health continuum and how quickly the position can change.
- Use of correct language in mental health conversations.
- Effective conversations with a person who may be struggling.
- Identifying common behaviours and the variety of causes.
- Responding appropriately to every situation – using the correct approach.
- Supporting someone in a crisis and keeping them safe.
- Tools and resources to support yourself and others.
- Confidently signposting a person who needs support.
- Being mindful of your own well-being and those close to you.
Depending on your unique requirements as a business we can create bespoke Mental Health Workshops and Webinars on a wide variety of topics. Workshops and Webinars can range from 1-3 hours and can be conducted face to face or online utilising interactive break-out rooms for increased engagement.
