About
My name is Mell, and I’m a nurse with over 25 years of experience, primarily in Primary Care. I have a longstanding clinical interest in women’s health, contraception, and menopause care. I’m committed to delivering the highest standards of care, always with the empathy, respect, and clarity I would want for myself.
Approach
I support women navigating perimenopause and menopause with a compassionate, holistic, and individualised approach. Creating a safe, non-judgemental space where they feel heard and understood is at the heart of my practice. I provide clear, evidence-based information about the physical and emotional changes they may experience, helping to demystify the process. I believe every woman deserves to make informed, personalised decisions about her care.
Experience
I bring over 20 years of experience in General Practice, including 15 years as a Practice Nurse Manager. In 2006, I qualified as an Independent Nurse Prescriber and went on to specialise in contraception and women’s health, with advanced skills in fitting coils and implants. I also served as an External Cervical Screening Assessor for the Yorkshire & Humber Region, supporting the professional development of Practice Nurses and ensuring high standards in cervical smear training.
Motivated by a deep passion for menopause care, I transitioned into the private sector to focus exclusively on this area. Over the past three years, I’ve undertaken extensive professional development in women’s health and menopause, culminating in the completion of Advanced Menopause Training with the British Menopause Society in July 2024. This has equipped me with enhanced clinical tools and communication strategies to support women with empathy, clarity, and evidence-based care as they navigate this pivotal life stage.
